Descent Tracker

We're leaping back into this dungeon-crawler with reckless abandon. Our first foray of the new year resulted in four mangled carcasses crushed beneath a tipsy, two-headed garbage elemental. W00t!

This is where we shall henceforth chronicle our adventures, keeping track, score, and generally ranting about the unfairness that is the new 'balance' skewed against the adventuring public. Format of the tracking TBA, I'm thinking leaving the numbers to Braden, and the interpretation of the chaos to myself. We'll be able to bookmark our adventures electronically, and recap the ongoing adventure through the lens of... whatever lens I choose to use. So there.

Campaign on 3/27/2015:

Epic play on Armed to the Teeth.

Hero Recap:

Lauren H - Orkell the Swift, Skirmisher.

Jeremy A. - Thaiden Mistpeak, Bounty Hunter.

Carrie H. - Avric Albright, Disciple.

Chris H. - Dezra the Vile, Hexer.

Jesse W. - Overlord.

Splig, the cowardly goblin, escaped from the first area, while Jesse's other minions beat the heroes soundly. Both Dezra and Avric fell while trying to stop the goblin's flight.

Valyndra the Dragon was our ultimate objective. Slaying the foul beast would take a combination of luck, teamwork... and Orkell basically bashing everything in the face for lethal damage.

After making short work of the guardians in the first chamber, and securing the key to open the way to the dragon, mayhem ensued. Avric was on door duty, spam healing as needed. Dezra and Thaiden stood back and blasted at range. Orkell... went a little nuts. Practically one-shotting Splig (no wonder he ran away so fast), the Skirmisher was a whirling dervish of destruction. Tearing through the minor enemies as well as the Overlord's quest objective minions with reckless abandon, Orkell utilized the curses the Hexer threw into the mix, and backed the dragon into a corner before delivering the final strike.

Campaign on 2/28/2015:
Manor of Ravens

Four Campaigns were played on this all day event and the campaign was completed (though a bit out of order). The two-headed overlord, Michael & Jesse, leveraged the power of Skarn to amass a 4-0 record. No Plot cards were used this time through. The heroes fought valiantly but in the finale found themselves separated by a teleportal and two iron sentinels. Without the ability to leverage their collective might they were weakened and suffered a slow defeat at the hands of the Manor Golem and his flock of crazed black birds.

Hero Recap:

Chris H. - Alys Raine, the Marshal.
She was a defensive force with a wicked hammer, consuming her foes with a Zealous Fire. Her skill set was underutilized, as every time her allies were defeated, it was an inconvenience to avenge them! Alys confided to the interviewer that next time, she would spend more time shopping, and less time 'Trying to maintain order'.

Chris G. - Rendiel, the Bard
Occasionally healing ally health and fatigue, this Bard was focused on dealing out pain in a large area. His Dissonance skill consisted of playing one horrible note, dealing damage to all monsters in a wide radius. The decision to take a long nap in the Pit of Stakes may have contributed to the magnitude of the party's demise.

Jeremy A. - High Mage Quellen, the Necromancer.
Quellen, harnessing the explosive power of death, unleashed the most destruction of any hero upon Skarn and his minions. Quellen later admitted that most of the necrotic explosions were 'not entirely intentional', and that he was working on a spell to devise a sturdier Reanimate.

Carrie H. - Tomble Burrowell, the Stalker.
Tomble spent much of the adventure rubbing a magic lamp, oohing and ahhing over treasures that were 'not quite what I want'. Once he decided to participate, Tomble nearly singlehandedly foiled Skarn's ascent to power, dotting the landscape with flaming pouches of questionable origin, and sneaking past the distracted Garbage Elemental. The last second maniacal lurch of the walking trash heap was the deciding factor in the brutal final battle.
